These standards apply across our Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp communities. Free membership is for in-house L&D practitioners, including those in wider HR and management roles.

1. Keep discussions relevant to L&D

Share questions, experiences and resources that help members develop people at work.

2. Respect every level of experience

Basic questions are welcome. Challenge ideas respectfully; personal attacks, discrimination and harassment are not allowed.

3. Protect workplace confidentiality

Do not share identifiable employee, company or client information without permission. Submit sensitive cases privately for review and anonymisation.

4. Ask before sharing outside the group

Do not screenshot, forward or republish members’ contributions without permission. Only material explicitly marked for public sharing may be shared freely.

5. Get approval before promoting

Courses, services, events, offers, job vacancies, surveys and recruitment posts require admin approval. Disclose commercial interests in recommendations.

6. No unsolicited sales messages

Do not collect member contacts, add people to mailing lists or send sales pitches without consent. Discussing a problem is not a request for a sales approach.

7. Share expertise without sales pitches

Trainers and providers participate through an admin-approved arrangement. Any subscription allows only the promotional activities expressly included.

8. Credit sources and check information

Link to original reports and circulars with their dates. Distinguish official requirements from interpretation and share only material you may distribute.

9. Let members choose introductions

Paid programmes are optional. Sponsorships and referral relationships will be disclosed; member details will not be passed to providers without consent.

10. Help keep the group useful

Report unwanted contact or inappropriate content privately to an admin. Admins may remove content or members who breach the rules.
