What is GLAD Practitioners?

Global Learning And Development (GLAD) Practitioners is a community by ASEAN People Development. It helps in-house L&D practitioners learn with peers, exchange practical ideas and build confidence, starting in Malaysia.

Who can join for free?

Membership is free for in-house learning and development practitioners, including HR professionals and managers responsible for learning in their organisations. Organisers review applications before confirming membership.

Can I join if I am new to L&D?

Yes. You are welcome if learning became part of your job unexpectedly or you are still finding your feet. Basic questions, unfinished ideas and requests for help belong here.

Can trainers and training providers participate?

Trainers and providers use the separate contributor and partner route. Participation requires organiser approval, may involve a subscription or agreed commercial terms, and does not allow unsolicited marketing. No standard subscription price is currently published.

Where does the community meet online?

The main community spaces are WhatsApp, Facebook and LinkedIn. You can choose the channels that suit you; you do not need to join all three. The website supports resources, anonymous discussions and events.

How do I join the WhatsApp community?

Choose WhatsApp in your membership application and provide a number with country code, or contact the organiser. The public WhatsApp link opens an enquiry with the organiser, not an automatic group invitation. Your number may be visible to other WhatsApp group participants.

Can people outside Malaysia join?

The community starts in Malaysia and welcomes relevant international perspectives. In-house practitioners outside Malaysia can apply; organisers review requests for fit. Published event times use Malaysia time unless stated otherwise.

Are anonymous discussion responses published immediately?

No. Responses are private until an organiser reviews them. Approved responses appear publicly without a name. Remove identifying details before submitting; technical server logs may still record IP addresses.

Who approves edited wording and sharing in social groups?

You approve the exact proposed edit through your private review link before an organiser can publish it. Sharing that approved text in GLAD’s WhatsApp, Facebook and LinkedIn groups needs your separate opt-in. Save your private link: it also lets you change sharing permission or withdraw your response.

Is every event free, and where do I register?

Free membership does not mean every future event is free. Each event page states its admission details. GLAD Meet & Connect on 13 November 2026 is free to attend. All new event registrations go through Eventbrite.

Will providers receive my contact details?

Your membership application does not permit GLAD to pass your details to training providers. Introductions require your permission. Sponsorships and referral relationships must be disclosed.
